Seven Questions with a Servant: Angie King

1. What’s Your Name?

Angie King

2. Will you please share a little about yourself (where you’re from, where you work, about your spouse, children, grandchildren, pets, etc)?

Born in Welch, WV, grew up in Glenwood, WV, transplanted to Charleston in 2014. Work at CAMC Memorial. Married to my best friend that it took me 44 years to find. Thankful to get to spend the rest of my life with him. Timothy is my only birthed child. He and his family are the other loves of my life. Bentley and Charlotte are the greatest kids in the world because they are my gbabies and they melt my heart. Maggie Mae is our canine child together and she is the most spoiled dog on the planet, besides the Lilly family dogs.

3. How long have you been attending/serving at Redeemer?

I think since 2015.

4. In what ways do you serve at Redeemer, which is your favorite way?

Evangelism (Gospel Sharing) team, choir, church council, Christmas decorating, spring cleanup outdoors, POM (Peace Officer Ministries), hospitality, Bible sticks, live on the levee, fall festivals, VBS, easter eggstravaganzas, dive in theater and anything else special event wise that I've been able to fit in. My favorites have been Bible Sticks, live on the levee, all of the outdoor things.

5. How has serving at Redeemer impacted you?

I've gotten hooked into a new community and made new friends that share the same ideas and faith as me. I've been uplifted when I'm in need and been able to be a blessing to others and my community through my faith and my church. Redeemer came along when I needed it most. Sometimes I've overextended myself, but I've learned how to balance.

6. What’s something about you not many folks know?

Something they know....I'm generally happy and blessed and have strong faith and love my family and friends. Something they don't know...I'm a bit of an introvert and I'm not always as strong as I appear; thus, God is the strength.

7. What do you like most about Redeemer?

It's based on the Bible fully. Not on politically correct, but on the truths from our Lord and Savior's word. I've learned more about God and His word since being there and that's saying a lot since I grew up in church. I like that we have a diverse congregation with many talents on many levels. The family atmosphere is also very appealing
