Seven Questions with a Servant: Fred Joseph

1. What's your name?

Fred Joseph

2. Will you please share a little about yourself?

Born in Whitesville, West Virginia in 1938 lived in Charleston West Virginia for all of my life .
After high school I attended one short year at West Virginia University. After that one year I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served two years on active duty .
Returned to Charleston West Virginia after my active-duty and went to work for Union Carbide; I was there for 5 1/2 years. Married my sweetheart Candace, and began our family of two sons and one daughter. After a short stent working in the grocery business for a local chain, began our own business of the Glad Ele bridal shops, with locations in Charleston and Beckley, West Virginia . Also established a special occasion formalwear showroom in the Atlanta Apparel Mart and travel the southeast part of the United States as a formal wear broker company. Retiring after 30 years of the special occasion family were business I took a position in the epic and retiring after 30 years of the special occasion for me were business took a position in the upper Kanawha valley in community development . After 15 years in this position I retired for the second time.
Shortly after that retirement I was hired as a district director for congressman Alex Mooney in the second congressional district, after a three-year stand I retired for the third time .
I am currently enjoying my life watching my three children six grandchildren and six great grandchildren grow into a beautiful family .

3. How long have you been attending/serving at Redeemer?

My wife and I of 54 years have been attending Redeemer for approximately 2 1/2 years

4. In what ways do you or have you serve(d) at Redeemer and which is/was your favorite way?

We had a very short stay at trying to beautify the grounds were also involved in the welcoming group on Sunday morning and participate in the hospitality after services groups .
I believe we prefer to be a part of the after-church hospitality group in as much as we enjoy cooking and entertaining our friends .

5. How has serving at Redeemer impacted you?

Have met and associated with some of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my church life. This has certainly contributed to increased spirituality and love of the church life.

6. What’s something about you not many folks know?

I am not the grouchy old man that many people have heard that I am. I dearly care about my family my country and my Lord and will argue all those points .

7. What do you like most about Redeemer?

The small loving and personal interaction with people that attend Redeemer.
The church life is very sincere and caring love of our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
