1. What's your name?

Steve Winans

2. Will you please share a little about yourself?

Originally from upstate New York. Came to South Charleston in 1963 after graduating from Clarkson as a Chemical Engineer. Retired and spend time gardening and traveling. Wife is Janet (41 years and counting) with 3 boys and 10 grandchildren.

3. How long have you been attending/serving at Redeemer?

Was a member from 1963 until we were transferred to Georgia in 1979. Rejoined in 2015.

4. In what ways do you or have you serve(d) at Redeemer and which is/was your favorite way?

Was on the Board of Stewardship (Gifts and Resources Team) and currently an Elder (Spiritual Care Team). Have helped with the Feed My Sheep program and have had several Action Teams through Thrivent for Feed My Sheep and the summer food program.

5. How has serving at Redeemer impacted you?

Has made me aware that our congregation is multi-talented and willing to share with anyone who has a need.

6. What’s something about you not many folks know?

I grew up on a dairy farm and had planned to return after my stint in the big city. Graduated from my high school's largest class (20). Have seen the 7 continents.

7. What do you like most about Redeemer?

How well the members get along with one another.
